A Cohasset Wedding

Save the Date Announcements

I designed these by modifying an existing template at Vistaprint.com.  I was thrilled with them, and the total cost (with sale pricing) was just over $30 for 250 with three uploaded images.  Like an idiot, it didn't occur to me that I didn't need a postcard for everyone attending the wedding, so half will go to waste (with the sale, though,  I really didn't spend much more than I would have if I'd used my brain).

Wedding Invitations

Where to begin!  At first, I was going to DIY the invitations (they were formatted on my computer pretty early on).  Then, after some consideration, I decided I'd rather have someting done by a printer.  Next, my thoughts shifted to a seal 'n' send invitation.  FMIL and I found what we thought was a nice one at a shop in Omaha, but Mark thought it looked too small.  With this idea more or less voted down, I again thought about creating a pocketfold DIY invite using beautiful, affordable metallic cardstock I'd found online.  As we began to tally printing and cutting costs, I stumbled on our invtitations.

They are self-mailer pocketfolds by Carlson Craft, style number FGN9959ENS.  We topped the square invitation with a custom monogram.  The invitation and enclosures are printed in navy thermography on ecru cardstock in a custom selected font combination.  The square self-mailer is champagne gold and seals with an included clear and gold "F" label.

My future mother-in-law is responsible for this pretty little invite.  It's a rectangle, longer widthwise.

Made using MyPublisher.com.  Here's a preview of the taupe linen cover; I'll be able to share more once I receive the book.  I used pictures from our engagement session with Heather Parker.

The Practical Unity Candle

I wanted some sturdy, rustic candlesticks that we could use again, not two taper holders welded to a pillar.  Here are the handcarved wooden holders that I came up with.  They'll hold unscented, dripless ivory tapers and a coordinating pillar.

Decor Ideas

Here are some of the decor ideas I've colected online (mostly from other brides on theknot.com) that I'm thinking about incorporating into our wedding.  The photo placecard display and local lanbmark table numbers are courtesy of theknot.com's "January Bride."  DIY projects are dfficult (because we live far away, there's the consideration of having to cart things I put together here back east), but not impossible!  We'll see what happens...
